PLOT : MOST OF NO!art involved artists had been finally silenced having beaten their heads bloody against hard stone walls, had ceased working publicly or had died, or continue struggling in the arts, or have switched to other pursuits. OBITUARY
WE MOURN FOR THE LOSS OF ►PETER MESECK He was affiliated with the NO!art movement. We don't forget his ►NO!poster and CD with ►Sound für NO!art in Buchenwald. Peter died on August 6, 2019 at the age of 65 in Berlin. ►Obituary

But when I long for the possibility to paint without difficulties and conflicts it is good to remember that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure. Then I become fascinated in following the dynamics and impulses of my pictures, their forms and colours and their fantastic imagination. They materialize according to their own rules. The most important thing I have to do is accepting these rules and not try to control or to interrupt the creative process or to destroy the balance by self-willed, obstinate actions.

Free Artist Residency in Zurich (Switzerland) | The Artist Residency "Freiraum" provides rent-free living in a recently renovated and furnished attic room with a separate kitchen in the heart of Zurich, as well as the opportunity to network and discuss projects and ideas with the artists of the authors's collective index. If desired, our collective will also help organize a public event (e.g. exhibition, concert, panel discussion). The Residency is open to artists of various disciplines and experience. However, priority for the space will be given to artists from abroad who have had little or no support from other sponsors. ►more

KALIBER 50 CENT Object
Money is a means of exchange that, on account of its general acceptance for further trade for goods, can be traded for a product. The power of money has an effect on the behavior and thinking of social groups or people. It can be oppressive or also addictive, an incitement to jealousy or envy. Money is a thing with symbolic value that can nevertheless be an incendiary bomb generating devastation and violence, along with all types of firearms, nuclear weapons and the new dimension of cyber weaponry like "Stuxnet". For the work Kaliber 50 Cent, 150 pieces of 50-€-cent coins will be taken out of the economic cycle and melted into 50 brass bullets for small arms, producing a limited edition of cartridges. Each bullet weighs about 8.3 grams.... ►more
