PLOT: The ►BLAF exhibition hysteria is slowly coming to an end. ►Millions of dollars have been squandered without sustainability. Only "distressed" galleries and museums enjoyed the BLAF money blessing. All the ►freeloaders are asleep or saturated. Nothing happened to promote NO!art and its involved artists. The ►exhibition catalogs - whose contents are repeated again and again in the same monotony - pile up and gather dust on the BLAF shelves.
Clayton Patterson: The Camera. “Writer and videographer, artist, activist, and self-styled outsider, Clayton Patterson has lived through and broadly documented more facets of underground history on New York’s Lower East Side than anyone else over the ...” ►more

The artistic initiative, doubled by the permanent desire to live an adventure in less accessible places, in less safe areas of Romanian cities, made possible to penetrate the unaltered intimacy of the Roma communities from Pata Râtt, and immortalization, in real time, of undergroud life, through unfair contact with the specifics of places, with simple people and with some disadvantaged groups such as those from Cluj, Bucharest, Timi Isoara and Baia-Mare. ►more

THE LOCATION OF SERENITY: ►Elsa Rensaa, Viktor Timofeev, Yasue Maetake, Eddie Natal | Curator: Gryphon Rue | DRONE | 1 Hudson | New York NY | May 7 - July 15 | Rensaa’s largest painting Untitled (Mona Lisa and L’inconnue de La Seine, 1980-1981) depicts Mona Lisa peering from the billowing wimple of a young woman resembling L’inconnue de La Seine, the death-mask putatively cast from the face of a woman who drowned in the Seine in the late-1800’s. Vladimir Nabokov, Rainer Maria Rilke, Albert Camus, Anaïs Nin, Man Ray and others were bewitched by the woman’s expression – mordant amusement at the expense of the living? deep satisfaction? At some point in the 1970’s, Rensaa compared the smiles of Mona Lisa and L’inconnue de La Seine speculatively with the risus sardonicus or rictus grin, a muscular disorder caused by poisoning which appears to produce grinning. Perhaps here we can locate a dark, unstable idea of serenity. ►more

BLAF now at SRI Fine Art Services, Clifton/NJ | Inside view
The Boris Lurie Art Foundation is excited to unveil its state-of-the-art 4,000 square foot space in Clifton, NJ. Award winning architect Julian von der Schulenburg has created a versatile space inspired by the industrial shell of the warehouse-like building. Incorporated into the design is a gallery space where the Foundation can host curators to view the over 3,000 works in its collection. In addition to the viewing area, ample space is provided for open art storage, restoration facilities, an archive room, and a research library.
COMMENT: BLAF does not manage artist grants, instead they support with Boris' millions "poor" museums and galleries, and hides Boris Lurie's art on the outskirts of New York in warehouses that nobody will visit for studies. BLAF is not interested in spreading out Boris Lurie's ideas. Instead, BLAF restricts itself to Boris' early works and keeps historians constantly on the Holocaust track. BLAF totally negates Boris' former friends and supporters. BLAF adorns itself with ignorant professors, art historians and journalists. A "wonderful" example for the mendacious manipulations in the art scene.
